Getting Started with UDL
Three good places to start learning about UDL are Harvard's CAST website, the Loudoun County Virginia website, and the PATINS Indiana website. Project members should read the book or online version of "Teaching Every Student in the Digital Age" at the CAST website and become familiar with the UDL Guidelines. Rae has created a flowchart which will assist you in navigating the CAST website.

Expanded UDL Guidelines
Project members are using UDL principles to guide curriculum design and the use of technology. By now, you are familiar with the principles of multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement. But can you break these three main principles down into their subcategories? Learn more about the UDL Guidelines and add/view examples of these principles in action.

Team Wikis
Are you starting to plan a udl-designed unit or project? Connect with other educators around the province and invite them to work with you or contribute ideas. The advantage of creating new pages within this wiki is that other project members don't have to create a separate account in order to join your wiki. You can also create your wiki elsewhere and just link it to our team wikis page.

UDL Presentations
Onsite and online training will focus on removing curriculum barriers and creating opportunities for our diverse students. Presentations and resources will be posted here. If you present at a conference or attend a conference and would like to report on your favourite sessions, you can also post information in this section.
*NEW* The fall onsite training materials and Paul's presentation on Firefox have been added Nov 09.

Technology and Tools
Technology is a powerful tool that can be used in the service of differentiation, but using technology is not an end in itself. Educators have been trying to make a case for digital education for many years, but many initiatives failed because teachers were just using technology for the sake of using technology. UDL is working because educational principles are guiding the use of technology. Please post about educational technology tools and ideas for implementing those tools here.

Why UDL is Working
Which research-based teaching strategies are compatible with UDL? Are you aware of research studies showing the effectiveness of Differentiated Instruction, UDL, or educational technology? Are you conducting research (formal or informal) on whether differentiation, technology and/or UDL is making a difference? Please keep us posted here.

Hi everyone,
I did add the UDL Training and SMARTBoard Training notes (see recent activity in the scroll bar to the right), but I wasn't sure where to file them. You'll see they appear in a couple of off places.
