After installation, the Auto Summary tool (looks like a lightening bolt) is found on the main toolbar above the ribbons. Paul Hamilton has created the following downloadable instructions for installing the Auto Summary Tool. The Auto Summarize option can be found under the Tools menu in Word X for Mac.
The Auto Summary tool can be used to reduce the size and complexity of text, e.g. to simplify a reading passage.
To use the Auto Summary tool, open a document, click the AutoSummary Tool, and choose Auto Summarize from the Menu.
You then have the option of selecting the type of summary and the size of the summary.
